Please tell me I am not the only one who hates making the bed. Because I do. And now that my boys are old enough to learn how, I wanted to make it easy enough that once they made the bed, it still looked, well, kind of nice.
Want to know how to cheat a little?
Don't use a top sheet. That way, all you have to do is straighten out the duvet or quilt and boom. Throw the pillows on the bed and done. Seriously takes less than a minute.
I gave up making the bed a long time ago. Especially on the weekends when I may take a nap. So making the bed is only done when we have guests. If I didn't get so cold I would use your tip but every layer helps me stay warm!
When my husband and I moved in together, he let me know he was not interested in having a top sheet. I, of course, was shocked and went about trying to convert him (back from where his mother had taken him, no doubt, as she had three boys!) Well, after 5 years of marriage, he has finally won me over with the idea of no top sheet and I love it.
I actually like making the bed (my own) but the boys bunkbeds KILL me every day. I make them (ages 4 and 6) pull up their sheets/quilt to the top before they get out of bed, then I straighten later. But I just can't handle an unmade bed. Also, I can't handle the idea of no sheet. It would kill me. Don't the comforters get yucky? They're much harder to wash than sheets. I like clean sheets every Saturday.

ReplyDeleteI love it! I do the same thing with my boys... it especially helps with bunk beds because they are a PAIN to make!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask where you got the navy comforter? I'm on the hunt for one. Thanks!
