Today's mothering moment comes from Kelli of Delightful Blog. And friends, Kelli is truly delightful. She has fantastic taste and although I only know her through the cyber world, she is beyond kind. Kelli is a mom to two little boys.

Mostly Good
Even in it’s simplicity, I really like the life I’m living today. Now is my time to be Cole and Finn’s mom. I’ve learned that loving that role comes from seeing the little + good moments that started collecting almost 5 years ago. My most recent was found in unexpected circumstances. He was having a bad morning. After an hour of meltdowns, I picked him up, closed his blinds and put him in his bed. And I did it like I meant it. That's when he said, "but I can't go to sleep with a big mess in my room," and although I understood (he's my child after all), I knew that we had tried that. Cleaning up was stirring up enough tantrums and tears to know that we were getting nowhere. Frustrated with each other, frustrated at ourselves, we kind of both gave up. I left his room, closed his door and then instantly felt guilty. His blankets were in the dryer and it was the kind of day where he needed those. I came back upstairs and put them on his cheek. He said thank you and I said goodnight and this was just minutes later when I peeked in to see if a nap (we do it rarely) was going to work.
I'm lucky to have seen him like this. It reminded me that when he woke up, he deserved a patient mom. One who remembered that it's okay to have bad days. But especially, when we do, one who still remembers that we're mostly good.

Kelli I didn't know you had a blog! Beautiful picture, I have the same days with Eden. Molly, Kelli is my friend out here in Santa Rosa, she is a wonderful mom and I agree she has such great taste. I was so shocked to see someone I knew posting on your blog. :)
