my skin hates me.
I'm reliving high school all over again, in the skin department. It's completely unfair and highly annoying. I sort of figure that when you're almost thirty, breakouts shouldn't be a concern. Can I get an amen?
My hormones must be crazy out of control right now. Who knows why. Apparently I have no say in the matter. And so I am laying all my woes at your feet and pleading with you to share your favorite skin products, beauty secrets and any tricks you may have up your sleeve. Pretty please?
p.s. I have the mia clarisonic and love it! but my skin needs more. help!
p.p.s please tell me I am not the only one suffering!

Ok, I promise you this isn't some crazy spam or just a trick to get you to go to my blog. I seriously just found the BEST diy skincare for my oily, broken out skin. Check out my blog post here. It's absolutely AMAZING. I have suffered with breakouts pretty much since the age of 14 & at 28 it was getting embarrassing. I have been using this ONE simple ingredient twice a day for about 2 weeks now & I do not have ONE pimple. This has never ever happened to me. Seriously, check it out, try it, stick with it faithfully every day & I'm positive you will see results! And it's so cheap & easy.

oh my goodness! your skin sounds similar to mine. i'm actually using epiduo along with another topical prescription. i tried two different oral meds that didn't work or caused annoying side effects so I am forgetting about those right now. i'd rather not have to take drugs and put that stuff in my body. i am so going to pick some up tomorrow while I am running errands. i'll report back in two weeks! thanks :)
DeleteI'm in the same boat. My adult skin is worse than my teenage skin. The best OTC product I have found is a facewash called PanOxyl and I get it at the drugstore in the acne skin care section. It's not expensive, and it works great! The only other thing that has helped my skin is the pill (Yaz), but I'm not on it anymore and the facewash is still doing the trick. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeletethe best skincare i have found is rodan & fields. this is a prescription based skincare company that was founded by the doctors who created proactiv. GREAT results that are guaranteed! and they are so confident in their products that they offer a 60 day empty bottle money back guarantee!

love your blog!!!
thanks for all the great info ladies! this is why I love blogging; connecting with other great women :)
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know I'm not the only 30-year-old with skin problems. I've wanted to try the clarisonic too, so it's good to hear you like it. I've been using Mario Badescu for a few years. I use the Buffering Lotion and Drying Serum. They work great on breakouts and especially when I get the deep cystic ones. It does nothing for prevention, but at least it helps clear them up faster.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of dermalogica! Good luck-I hope you find some relief!
ReplyDeleteI was having the exact same problem about a year ago so I decided to go to this amazing girl for a facial and spent a ton of money on it as I felt like I need a fresh start or something.. when we were done she said I had really great skin she just felt I was using the wrong stuff she told me about PCA and said to use the 5% formula and make sure I use it every night and rub it into my skin for a full 60 seconds and then she told me to use St Ives apricot scrub once a week.. so I went online and ordered the PCA and went to target and grabbed the St Ives and it worked! I have the best skin I have had in my life.. bright and clear.. hope this helps
ReplyDeleteI'm 32 and my skin has been awful since I hit 30. I finally saw a dermatologist last week and he said that as you get older you stop producing as much estrogen and your hormones get all out of whack. I expected that at 45 or 50, not 30, but whatever. I'll try the medicine he prescribes and see what happens. I used proactive for 10 years and it worked great... Until I turned 30.
ReplyDeleteI really love CeraVe products. They have both an AM and a PM moisturizer, and a really great foaming face wash. You can find it at any drugstore or Wal-mart.
ReplyDeleteI feel ya :( Hormonal acne up in here, too!
ReplyDeleteI have been using super gentle bar soap (basis for sensitive skin) with my clarisonic, then a layer of benzoyl peroxide, and afterwards a moisturizer. Garnier Anti Sun Damage during the day and CeraVe PM lotion that the commenter above mentioned at night.
I also take an oral Vitamin D supplement which is a new addition to my regime and I think it has REALLY been helping.
I'm with you! I stopped using all the acne toners and creams, and my skin actually cleared up a lot. I was surprised! I switched to a facial cleansing bar called Basic (super cheap at Walgreens). Then I started using antibacterial cream (not the ointment) on bad pimples, and it cleared them up in 2 days tops (it is bacteria, afterall). So that was a big find! I am off to mix up some Apple Cider Vinegar toner right now!!
