My boys are allergic to nuts, as in, ALL of them! And so, sometimes, when I am in desperate need of chocolate and do not want to share, I lie. If they ask, I tell them, "oops, sorry! has nuts!". Does that make me a bad mom?

no. that makes you very very smart.
ReplyDeleteThat is the funniest thing I have ever heard! And I agree with the above comment, it makes ya smart ;-) When I was babysitting a lot for a family back in my hometown, I would get a diet Mt. Dew to drink everyday and pour it in a glass and whenever the kids asked what it was, I told them it was a "Special Mommy drink" :) They never asked if they could have it! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm chuckling as have done the same in the past - I would love to hear how you get round this issue. Here in the UK supermarkets have only just started labeling food that contains trace nuts but still eating out is a nightmare as you can never be sure!
ReplyDeleteHa! Nope it doesn't make you a bad mom at all. You need a good chocolate stash to keep you from going insane. :) Now if you know way to keep those chocolates away from your husband too. . . more power to you!
