I have a collection of vintage "granny" purses and before my daughter - I had one of those daily. Now - like you - I have a large cross body. I bought a cheapo to carry around and made sure I would use the bigger bag (what was I questioning??) and then over Christmas I used some gift money and bought a nice bag.

I splurged and bought "the one bag with many covers" thingy. The principal is that you never have to change bags, everything is where you left it, but you can co-ordinate your bag with your outfit by changing the outer covers.... Nice idea in theory, but not a nice bag. I love my soft leather bags. I usually gravitate to one and stick with it forever until a new catches my eye. The "co-ordinating thingy" is on the floor of my closet. Too weird.

Hello! I have been carrying around the same bag for 3 and half years, actually. Of course, it is a quality handbag, though. My mom found it "on sale" for $300 at neiman marcus one year and gave it to me for my birthday. Since then I haven't switched, partly for the same reasons that you mentioned, and partly because any handbags that I can afford would be a downgrade! hahaha. I love my Adrienne Vitadini bag, though. It has immense sentimental value for me. Adrienne has been everywhere with me and back! ^.^
